"SpaceTek" isn't just a cool sounding EP title... It fits the fresh fusion on Surreal's new Chip Butty supper perfectly. "Loving Me" takes the lead with a precision balance of house, tech and garage as it rolls into the future with absolutely no apology. Soulful but dominant are the key themes you need to be aware of here. "SpaceTribe" is a slightly broken, subtly tribal, massively futuristic workout that sounds like an alien's interpretation of 4x4 bassline. "Feeling" crashes us back down to the planet with a slightly more familiar Four40-style tech-garage dynamic. Barbed but beautiful - ready for take off?

Turbo two-step from Nottingham filth-flinger Sergic: "Need U Now" has urgency coded deep into every element. Flexing around a deftly diced vocal sample with an array of basses grunting and fronting, it's a seriously effective example of how 4x4 mentality and energy can be harnessed in more of a broken drum arrangement. We need this now more than ever.

UK funky's favourite freshness detective MHW returns to RKS with four outstanding beat blends. Once again he reveals more layers to his rich dark soul sound; "Mono" is a breezy introspective afro-beat driven slice of deepness, "Say It Twice" is straight up modern day dancefloor soul while "That Love" is nothing short of pure hypnosis thanks to its snaking filtered synths and a husky jazzy vocal sample. Hold tight for the grand finale as "Forever" buses up a more broken drum arrangement and heaven-sent emotional pads. Pound for pound this is the best crime Murder He Wrote has solved to date. And when we say crime, we mean EP. And when we say solved, we mean released. Case closed.

In:Flux Audio open their first Get Fluxed compilation with the ludicrous bounce of Swedger's "Shellsuit Temptress", and it gets even sillier with the tinges of electro-swing in 1Point5's "Villian". There are more streamlined, deeper passages though, like Pavv's remix of "Hold Up" (neat vocal samples to boot) to Prude Lerude's "I Need Your Love". For beats more stripped and torn check Ramage's "Happy Days" and the Samphet's "Badman", but the best old school UKG flavours come through on Gammy and Mr LA productions. UK garage never sounded so 2015.

Influx:Audio is a label celebrating the thriving bass scene of their native Yorkshire. One of their shining stars is Pavv (ironically from Brighton) who has made a big splash in the UK bass scene with releases for the likes of U Wot Blud? Here they invite him to reveal his top artists and tunes happening right now and he doesn't disappoint, delivering 10 bleeding edge jams including the space-age UKF of "Things I Do" by Deadbeat UK, the percolating bass gargles of "Nod Ya Head" by Spookz and Pavv's own quirky take on wobble-heavy 4 x 4, "Everyday".

The newly founded In:Flux imprint launches its second release after Tik & Borrow's mutant drum-core single, and it's in the form of an extended collaborative release. Mr C goes in for the kill with three monster house mutants packed with enough low-end to send the dubstep boys into twist. Dr. Oscillator's "The Heist" is a similarly gritty and wobbled-out 4/4 lick, while Tik & Smuggla's "Scuffa Kid" goes into a more broken, swinging garage mode. These guys are setting up their own sound fast, so don't sleep and get to know.

Tik&Borrow's In:Flux Audio label has developed its strong reputation not least due to the duo's discerning ears. A new Get Fluxed comp always means more of their expertly curated selections. This time round there are 12 cuts that provide something for everyone on a bass tip. Highlights includes the buzzsaw breakbeats of T&B's own "Junction Box", the sinister afterhours garage of "Too Close" by Connerz and heady, dub-tech mayhem of Joedan's "High Times". Also an extra shout-out goes to the digi-dancehall roof-raiser "Get Funky" by King Hydra.

Every now and then a producer comes along who changes the game with a forward thinking new approach to a familiar sound. Hailing from Leeds Dan Smith, aka 1Point5, is gearing up to be one of those guys. This, his latest for In:Flux, boasts three fresh new jams - the dubby, percussive moodiness of the title track, quirky, skippy 4 x 4 of "Brock 2000", a collaboration with GLVR, and the wobble/2-step mash up "Sun Comes Up". There are also three remixes, the best of which is the distorted crunch of Tik&Borrow's pounding rework.
